Château Séraphine: Tasting & Drinking
As in many appellations, not least St Emilion and Pomerol, there is wide variation in the included terroirs. Château Séraphine is located on the sandier soils of the appellation, and in my experience properties in this sector tend to produce wines which flatter when young, but which do not necessarily age that well in bottle. Recent experiences with the wines of Château Séraphine’s more prominent neighbours, at ten years of age or more, only seemed to reaffirm this belief.
