Le Clos du Beau-Père: Tasting & Drinking
The red wines of Le Clos du Beau-Père slot nicely into the Thunevin portfolio, the style a good match for the likes of Clos Badon Thunevin or even Château Valandraud. The colour is dark and concentrated, the texture rich, the structure imposing, shaped by the new oak which can make its presence felt on both nose and palate. And although I don’t have a great deal of data associated with my tasting notes, presented below, I suspect they lean towards higher alcohol levels.
Successful red wines have been produced in several recent vintages, with 2020 and 2018 coming out rather well.
