Château La Cabanne: Tasting & Drinking
I hope I have made clear in my introduction to this profile, and also in my detailed description of the location of the vineyards, that Château La Cabanne has an admirable position close to the Pomerol ‘sweet-spot’, that central plateau of gravel and clay which gives us the greatest wines of the appellation. This is relevant, because with this knowledge to hand, we should perhaps expect a wine in the style or character of Château Trotanoy perhaps, or maybe something akin to that made at Château Clinet. Both estates are, after all, direct neighbours, in each case the château lies barely a few hundred metres away (cutting directly across the vines in the case of Château Clinet, admittedly).
