Château L’Enclos: Tasting & Drinking
Château L’Enclos is one of those estates that, whenever I tasted the wines, it did not quite live up to my expectations. In my early days of Bordeaux discovery, a decade before I was adding notes to Winedoctor, this confused me somewhat; after all, the estate seemed to be well-known, and apparently enjoyed a good reputation. The fact that Clive Coates dedicated several pages to the estate and its wines in the aforementioned Grand Vins, alongside missives on Petrus, Le Pin, Château Trotanoy and Château L’Évangile suggested to me that there really must be something here that I was missing.
