Château Clinet: Tasting & Drinking
My tasting experience here goes back as far as the 1990 vintage, one of the two vintages in which Château Clinet first announced it had returned to the Bordeaux fold. Gone were the reputedly weedy wines of the Audy era; these were now wines to be reckoned with. I did not start with the 1990 though; in fact, it is only in 2010 that I encountered this vintage, when it was already 20 years old. The wine, however, was in tip-top condition, and I would not raise any objection to those critics who rightly lauded its quality when it was first tasted in the early 1990s.
