Château La Fleur Morange: Vineyards

As I have already mentioned sin my introduction to this profile, Château La Fleur Morange is located in St-Pey-d’Armens, a small hamlet located at the southeastern end of the St Emilion appellation. This little settlement is located on the road that runs eastwards out towards Castillon-la-Bataille, and coming here it can feel as though you have left St Emilion entirely behind you. But do not be deceived. Although the domaine feels isolated, and there are no other famous names nearby, it is in truth not positioned as far east as either Château de Pressac or the aforementioned Château Valandraud, both of which are located on the plateau, some way to the north, and east a little.

The cellars are located just off the main road, and you need to know where to look if you are trying to find them. Bijou in design, the solitary building stands next to some of the La Fleur Morange vines), a parcel (pictured below planted on sandy soils the fruit from which is used for the early-drinking cuvée Mathilde. These are the cellars Jean-François Julien built in 2000.
