Château Yon-Figeac: Tasting & Drinking
My experience with the wines of Château Yon-Figeac relates solely to a handful of recent vintages which have been produced during the tenure of Alain Château. I have not tasted any of the wines from the Germain family’s time at the helm, or any from earlier than that.
Allowing for my limited experience with these wines, there is certainly something of interest here. The 2015 vintage has shown rather well when tasted from barrel, both at the primeurs and later on with Alain Château, in London, and I would like very much to taste it again. It shows the absolute value of the 2015 vintage in St Emilion, this being a year when many estates in this appellation made truly great wines, sometimes their best ever, and I wonder if the 2015 from Château Yon-Figeac might be a good candidate for that accolade.
