Château Grand Mayne: Tasting & Drinking
It is interesting to look back at the words of Bernard Ginestet, writing in St Emilion (Jacques Legrand SA, 1988), describing the wines of Château Grand Mayne as “distinguished especially by their delicate aromas and the finesse which comes from their tannins”. He goes on to praise the even quality across vintages, good and bad. Certainly I have had pleasure compatible with this point of view over the years from the wines of this estate, with particularly fond memories of the 1998 vintage which was still drinking very well indeed when I last tasted it.
