Clos Dady: Tasting & Drinking
When you discover wine for the first time, one of its joys is understanding and experiencing the wines of well-established famous names, from Château Latour to Château d’Yquem. I suspect for many this is a phase that never passes; encounters with such wines are so hard to come by that they remain an elusive fascination, always just out of reach.
There is more to just the famous names though. In many parts of the wine world, not just Bordeaux, there are domaines and châteaux run by newcomers to wine, perhaps a new generation or a new arrival on the scene, eager to make their mark. These days, these are the wines are châteaux and people that interest me. Everybody already knows about Château d’Yquem. It is estates like Clos Dady, and people like Igor Solomon, that I want to hear about. The people taking ignored parcels of land that have lost their voice, and encouraging them to sing once more.
