Château Doisy-Dubroca: Tasting and Drinking

My experience of Château Doisy-Dubroca is very limited indeed, but having said that so is everybody else’s.

I had a lone encounter with the estate many years ago in a horizontal tasting of the 1990 vintage, in which it showed very well. Since then the estate fell off my radar, in part due to its complete absence from UK distribution. The next I heard about it was some years later was that the vines had been pulled up, and then sold to the Dubourdieu family. It seemed like the land, if replanted, would be absorbed into the vineyard of Château Doisy-Daëne, and the estate was destined to disappear for ever.

Happily this did not transpire. The Dubourdieu family replanted the entire vineyard, and keeping about one-third of the estate separate Château Doisy-Dubroca was reborn.
