Bordeaux Tasting Snippets, 2014
I’m in a spring cleaning mood, so after publishing some previously overlooked Domaine Vacheron notes yesterday I decided today to take a trawl back through some other old notes to see what else I could lay my hands on. Quite a few tasting notes of real interest, as it turns out, on wines from Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, Champagne and one or two other regions.
Here today are the notes that relate to Bordeaux. Many of them are on wines (occasionally barrel samples) tasted during a trip to Bordeaux in October 2013, including visits to Château Margaux, Petrus and Château Lafleur. Some are more recent, wines tasted at home this year. Some are a little older, including some notes from a series of Sauternes visits I made during July 2012, including Château d’Yquem and Clos Haut-Peyraguey. These latter notes are a little dated, but I think it is worthwhile including them as in several cases they are on wines or vintages I haven’t reported on before.
In each case I give a little background on the wine, where I tasted it, or indeed why it was poured. (22/6/14)
