Château Coutet: Tasting & Drinking
My opinion of Château Coutet is that this is now not only one of the leading properties in Barsac, but in all Sauternes. In this respect it is inevitably compared to Château Climens, which is after all just a few minutes walk up the road and which is the only other premier cru property located in the commune. Nevertheless, prior to and during the first few years of the Baly takeover this would have been a poor comparison; today, however, Château Coutet and Château Climens are undoubtedly turning out wines of comparable quality.
