Domaine de Chevalier: Tasting & Drinking
The wines of Domaine de Chevalier have, in my opinion, only improved under the direction of Olivier Bernard. Looking first at the red wines, those of the Bernard era I have tasted show breed, balance and elegance, classic attributes for Bordeaux and Pessac-Léognan. Alongside this, however, they have with the passing of many vintages shown an increasingly admirable texture and concentration, so that today they possess both style and conviction. The red wines need cellar time although, as evidenced by a tasting of recent vintages with Olivier Bernard in 2014, they show well when young as well.
