Château Cantenac-Brown: Vineyards
Château Cantenac-Brown is located to the south of the village of Margaux, and to the west of Cantenac, a stone’s throw from the D2 as it passes through here. This places it close to the edge of the Cantenac plateau, with a number of significant neighbours, most notably Château Brane-Cantenac is just a minute’s walk to the southeast, while also close by, unsurprising in view of their shared origin, is Château Boyd-Cantenac and Château Prieuré-Lichine, both of which are located in or close to Cantenac, to the east.
The vineyards cover 48 hectares in all, mostly around the village of Cantenac, although there are other plots in Arsac, Soussans, Margaux and Labarde, the other communes also eligible for the Margaux appellation. Some lie outside the appellation, which explains the appearance of a wine using the generic Bordeaux appellation in the portfolio.
