Château Cos d’Estournel, 2016 Update
As March draws to a close the minds and eyes of the wine trade are already turning towards Bordeaux, and the forthcoming primeur tastings of the 2015 vintage. Indeed, before this week has come to an end I will already be in the region, front-crawling my way though a sea of 2015 primeurs samples.
With this in mind, this short report closes the book on my recent 2013 Bordeaux updates. Well, when I say ‘recent’, in truth it was back in December last year when I published my latest Bordeaux 2013 report, and since then I have also published a Bordeaux 2011 report, and a Loire 2015 report too. So you can see, I hope, that I haven’t been twiddling my thumbs, so please forgive the somewhat tardy addition of these notes to the site. I couldn’t visit Château Cos d’Estournel during the time I spent in Bordeaux for the 2013 tastings, and so the team sent these recently bottled samples. I left them to rest for a few weeks, before coming to them last weekend.
