Château Quintus: Tasting & Drinking
There is no denying the very fine position enjoyed by Château Quintus. Sitting on a south-facing slope on the edge of the St Martin plateau, it is in some ways a mirror image of Château Pavie, which enjoys a very similar location but on the other side of the road leading up to the town of St Emilion. Nor is there any denying the expertise and commitment of the group director, Jean-Philippe Delmas, who has already proved himself with several superb vintages of Château Haut-Brion and Château La Mission Haut-Brion following his father’s retirement. There is no suggestion of any lack of investment or commitment to quality either; one only has to look at the acquisition of Château L’Arrosée, adding another 10 hectares into the mix in 2013, and the vines of Château Grand Pontet in 2021, not to mention the extremely strict selections in the first few vintages since the purchase, to recognise this.
