Les Frères Couillaud: Tasting & Drinking
Although not one of the most famed names in the region, the Couillard family maintain an extensive yet well-run vineyard and turn out a reliable range of wines, on one side utilising the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation, while on the other they turn out an interesting range of varietal wines. The various cuvées of Muscadet I have tasted had attractive typicity and seemed to offer good value, two factors which surely helped the family secure a deal with prestigious UK grocer Fortnum & Mason to supply their own-label Muscadet.
