Domaine de Bellevue: Tasting & Drinking

Jérôme Bretaudeau is a young, hard-working and talented guy turning out an interesting range of wines. Despite his location in what is essentially the suburbs of Clisson, Muscadet seems to play a relatively minor role in his portfolio. Alongside a handful of Muscadet cuvées he produces a greater number of other wines made using Chardonnay, Sauvignon Gris, Pinot Gris and others, none of which are immediately associated with the Nantais (although they all count as Loire varieties, in my book at least). No surprises then that on my first encounter with him I tasted only one Muscadet, but a quartet of these other wines.
