Château La Voûte: Tasting & Drinking
It was during the course of the Covid-19 pandemic that I was introduced to the wines of Château La Voûte, courtesy of an intrepid delivery driver.
The doorbell rang. It being the middle of one of several UK lockdowns (I am afraid I have not committed the exact timeline to memory), I wasn’t expecting any callers. Naturally I went to answer it, mask in place.
“You Chris Kissack?”
Naturally I confirmed that I was.
“Got forty boxes for ya.”
And so I accepted one of several socially-distanced Covid-era deliveries from Laboratoire Rolland & Associés. Given the fact that the vintage included in this particular delivery was 2020 there were some very strong wines among the 240 bottles (six well-packaged bottles per box, in case you were wondering) but one that stood out was the 2020 Château La Voûte. I have since endeavoured to taste the wines of this estate at every subsequent opportunity.
