Pierre & Bertrand Couly: Tasting & Drinking
Tasting the wines suggests this is an estate worth watching. The rosé seems to be very popular with many retailers but nevertheless both it and the entry-level Chinon remain rather commercial in style. Indeed, overall, the style here is dry, quite reserved, certainly one for old-school traditionalists, the structure of the wines tending towards the more tannic, bordering on austere at times. I suspect this partly reflects picking decisions, but is perhaps more dependent on the approach to maceration and extraction in the cellars.
