Domaine Ménard-Gaborit: Tasting and Drinking

Although not one of the most famous names in the region, and despite being devoid of a cult following, Domaine Ménard-Gaborit is a domaine worth getting to know. With good terroir, a strong focus on Melon de Bourgogne, a recent shift to organic viticulture, as well as there being a new generation waiting in the wings, this would seem to be a domaine on the up.

The cru communal cuvées from Le Pallet and Monnières-St-Fiacre, are the wines to look out for of course, the former a rare example from this cru that hasn’t been made by Les Vignerons de Pallet. Having said that, the Muscadet portfolio here seems pretty solid across the board, from the early-drinking 1ère Escale up to the rather more smoky and minerally Cuvée Prestige. I hope to be able to return to Domaine Ménard-Gaborit to see how the story here pans out in the future. (8/5/19)
