Complémen’Terre: Vineyards

As described in my introduction, Manuel Landron and Marion Pescheux started out with 7 hectares, and to this they have continued to add small parcels, so they now have 10.2 hectares of vineyard, of which 9 hectares are currently in production. The vineyards are situated exclusively in La-Haie-Fouassière, unsurprising in view that many of them came from Jo Landron.

The vineyards are planted almost exclusively with Melon de Bourgogne, accounting for 8.3 hectares in total, Manuel (pictured) declaring himself “a true believer in the value of Muscadet”. In addition they have one parcel of Folle Blanche, or Gros Plant de Nantais as it is also known, which comes in at just 0.68 hectares. Although other varieties have made an appearance in their portfolio of wines over the past few years, this has largely been down to circumstances, or from parcels of vines they have since released. At the time of my visit very late in 2018 there were also 1.5 hectares which lay fallow, and Manuel had plans to plant more Folle Blanche here.
