Château Larose-Trintaudon: Vineyards
Château Larose-Trintaudon is located directly southwest of the town of Pauillac, sitting in a very prominent position aside the D206 which runs through the vineyards of Pauillac and on to Saint-Laurent-Médoc. This places it very close to a number of notable Pauillac domaines, with both Château Batailley and Château Haut-Batailley situated just 1,500 metres up the road. St Julien is not too far away either of course, and Château Lagrange is just 1,800 metres away, to the south east, with the Haut-Médoc classed growths of Château Belgrave, Château de Camensac and Château La Tour Carnet also nearby, to the south. There are no other particularly notable Haut-Médoc properties in close proximity, other than perhaps Château La Tour Sieujean which lies to the southwest. Of course, the closest neighbour is Château Larose Perganson, directly to the south, which is under the same ownership.
The Château Larose-Trintaudon vineyards are extensive, covering close to 180 hectares, which when combined with the vineyards of Château Larose Perganson makes this one of the largest estates on the entire Médoc peninsula. Of these vineyards the majority, approximately 140 hectares, are located in a broad sweep around the château and on both sides of the D206. There is another large parcel, with an area of 32 hectares, located in Arcins, closer to Margaux. A smaller 5-hectare nugget can be found in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, between Margaux and St Julien.
