Château Daugay: Tasting & Drinking

Looking back over my tasting notes I see I have tasted a number of recent vintages of Château Daugay, although it was with the 2014 that I really began to sit up and take notice. This recent uptick in quality is contemporaneous with a shift in focus, with the running of the estate increasingly coming under the same team as Château Angélus. Responsibility for the running of that estate increasingly falls to Stéphanie de Boüard de Laforest, but she has been joined in her endeavours by Jean-Bernard Grenié’s son and her second-cousin, Thierry Grénie-de Boüard. With the two branches of the family working together more closely together, it seems somehow inevitable that some of Hubert’s magic dust should be sprinkled in the direction of Château Daugay.
