Eric Chevalier: Tasting & Drinking
Eric Chevalier is a thoughtful, intelligent and inquisitive winemaker who has revitalised what was perhaps a rather lacklustre family domaine. In previous times the fruit was all sold to the négoce, but no matter how strong Gérard’s reputation might have been, it is difficult to imagine anyone working to this model achieving the same level of quality as that achieved when a vigneron puts his or her own name on the label, and undertakes to sell the wine themselves. But this is the road Eric has taken; following his arrival an increasing proportion of the harvest is vinified, bottled and marketed in-house.
