Château de l’Aulée: Tasting & Drinking
It is not often that you find such conviction in sparkling wines as that possessed by the wines of Château de l’Aulée. I have long been an advocate of the sparkling wines of the Loire Valley, generally as unique styles – Vouvray especially – rather than as an alternative to Champagne. Here though we do find wines closer to the Champagne style, with fine-boned acidity, gently polished textures and a tightly packed, prickling mousse.
