Domaine des Herbauges: Tasting & Drinking
My first encounters with the wines of Domaine des Herbauges were with, in several vintages, the Fief Guérin cuvée. In most recent vintages I have found consistency and quality here, although I think in absolute terms I have been swayed most by the character of the Roche Blanche cuvée, which comes from a single 17-hectare vineyard, acquired by the Choblet family in 2007. Elegant, composed and enticing, this is surely their most noteworthy wine, although having said that I note there are several cuvées made from the 100-plus hectares of this domaine that I have never tasted.
