Domaine la Haute Févrie: Vineyards
The domaine is based on the southern edge of the village of Févrie, 18 kilometres south of Nantes, on the left-hand side as you head up the road out of the village. As already noted, many of the vineyards are scattered on this finger of land between the waters of the Sèvre and the Maine. This location means that near neighbours include a number of noteworthy domaines, including Château du Coing de Saint-Fiacre, Vincent Caillé at Domaine Le Fay d’Homme, Louis Métaireau and Marc Ollivier of Domaine de la Pépière, all either located close by, or with vineyards in the immediate locale.
The domaine incorporates 27 hectares of vines, including 15 hectares located around the village. These are principally in the Clos de la Févrie, which is mostly in the possession of the Branger family, although the aforementioned Vincent Caillé of Domaine Le Fay d’Homme has a small slice. This is an orthogneiss terroir.
