Vignobles Günther-Chéreau: Tasting & Drinking
A tasting of the wines of Château du Coing de Saint-Fiacre confirms the wisdom of exploring beyond the very famous names of Muscadet, the name that I included in my introduction to this profile, and which are well known to all. Well, to all of us Muscadet fanatics, anyway. But there are other domaines, not only in the Sèvre et Maine appellation but beyond, that are working hard, turning out deliciously distinctive wines, often the product of great care in the vineyard, sensitive winemaking and more-often-than-not a little bit of extended lees-aging.
