Lucien Crochet: Tasting & Drinking

The village of Bué is a quality hotspot in the Sancerre appellation, too often overlooked in lieu of the famous names from the village of Sancerre itself or, of course, from Chavignol. The presence of Lucien Crochet here in the village, however, is clear testimony to the quality and potential of Bué’s vineyards and wines. The Lucien Crochet house style is savoury, sinewy and gastronomic, and as is also the case at one or two other nearby domaines in this corner of the Sancerre appellation the incumbent Gilles Crochet seems to excel with his red wines just as he does with his white. These are all wines worth tracking down. (23/7/20)
