Pithon-Paillé: Tasting Notes
At present my notes are split over two pages. Below are the notes starting from the 2010 vintage and going back to the earliest Pithon-Paillé vintages, plus a few non-vintage wines. On the preceding page are all my notes on wines from the most recent vintage back as far as 2011.
Jo Pithon and Jo Paillé turn out a broad array of wines from across the Anjou appellations. In order to try and maintain a sense of order I have divided my tasting notes up within each vintage, beginning with the various colours and styles within the Anjou appellation (Blanc and Rouge) followed by Savennières and then the wines from Saumur, Chinon and Bourgueil, all négoce wines of course. I finish up with the sweet wines, Coteaux du Layon first, Quarts de Chaume next. Where a wine has been tasted more than once, as is usual the most recent note is presented first.
