Château de Passavant: Tasting & Drinking
The range of wines offered by Château de Passavant is broad, and for me the high point comes with the two dry white wines. The domaine cuvée of Anjou Blanc offers tension and purity, with no oak influence. For a different experience, the Jarret de Montchenin allows oak into the equation, and it works. Although clearly influenced by the wood in its youth, it should see more harmony with time. It is a wine I have encountered blind when tasting at Decanter panel tastings, and it has shown exceptionally well. Indeed, if I remember correctly in a Chenin Blanc tasting I participated in during 2016, we rated it top.
