The style here would appear to have shifted, compared to the wines of Pithon-Paillé, to a more reductive style, which I welcome. Having said that, the wines were tasted early from barrel, early on during their élevage, and it is impossible to know if this aspect of style will be carried forward into the bottle. Processes such as racking, exposing the wine to oxygen, can have a profound effect on this character of the wines. Even so, I was hugely impressed by the quality, the wines also showing a firm acid-framed tension and wonderful minerally substance.
