Château Soucherie: Tasting & Drinking

I have to confess before I was sent a few sample bottles, quite a few years ago now, I was blissfully ignorant of the existence of Château Soucherie. Receiving those bottles I viewed them with a sceptical eye. A Savennières and a Coteaux du Layon from a domaine I was almost entirely unaware of? They surely weren’t destined to be of great interest. I tasted them though, maintaining an open mind, and was impressed with their quality. The vintages were 2008 and 2009, and Thibaud Boudignon had of course been appointed in 2007, the year Roger-François Begûinot took control. I had an early glimpse of Thibaud’s skill, and it was the start of an ascendency for Château Soucherie.
