Château Larose Perganson: Tasting & Drinking

With a smaller vineyard than its neighbour Château Larose-Trintaudon, and a greater emphasis on new oak and even amphorae for the élevage, it would seem that Château Larose Perganson has the upper hand in terms of status and perhaps the promise of its wine. Despite being perhaps less immediately recognised compared to its partner, several vintages have indeed shown good promise, although this finding has been far from consistent. Whereas the 2009 vintage showed well when tasted at the annual Cru Bourgeois classification tasting back in 2011, some other vintages have not performed so well. The 2011 felt ordinary, while the 2017 clearly showed the negative effects of the frost that struck in this vintage.
