Bordeaux 2015 Primeurs: St Estèphe Tasting Notes
It seems clear, looking back over my notes and thinking back to my tastings, that St Estèphe has been dealt a less useful hand in the 2015 vintage than some other regions of Bordeaux, In this, however, it is not alone. There are also plenty of signs that the growing season was not entirely favourable to the north, in the Médoc appellation, and to the south, in Pauillac, indeed this was true as far down as St Julien.
It should be noted, though, that this vintage is no big disaster. There are good wines here in the 2015 vintage, especially from the top three domaines, and two or three others also, which on the basis of my primeurs tastings (and depending on the price of course) should be of interest to Bordeaux drinkers.
