Verdier-Logel: Tasting & Drinking
It isn’t easy to pigeonhole the wines of the Côtes du Forez. With the principal grape being Gamay it is tempting to draw comparisons with Beaujolais, although to make such analogies ultimately only dumbs down this fascinating wine region. And besides, I have never tasted Beaujolais as convincing, as vibrant, as seamless and as pure of flavour as I have Côtes du Forez. And if you are looking for quality within this very distant outpost of the Loire Valley, Verdier-Logel is one of the first addresses you should commit to memory.
