Daniel Crochet: Tasting & Drinking
Daniel Crochet seems to maintain a lower profile than the other Crochets of Bué, certainly so when compared to his cousin François Crochet, perhaps also when compared to Lucien Crochet. Looking at his white wines, it is perhaps not that difficult to understand why. These are attractive wines, certainly competently made, good even, although I see nothing here to raise the wines above those of his peers and neighbours. I can think of plenty of times when I might reach for a bottle of white Sancerre from Daniel Crochet, but on the other hand I might reach for one from François Crochet or another neighbour, Pierre Morin, in preference.
