Château Tour Seran: Tasting & Drinking
The wines from Domaines Rollan de By et Jean Guyon, which encapsulate those from Château Tour Seran as well as Château Haut-Condissas, Château Greysac, Château Rollan de By and others are worthy of attention. The vineyards are well-situated, and the work in both vineyards and cellars during the decades that have past since Jean Guyon laid the foundation stone of his Médoc empire in 1989 has created a track record of good wines from an appellation which is too commonly overlooked.
This being the Médoc, the terroir tends towards colder clays with gravel, and some limestone in parts, and the vineyards are exposed to the influences of both the Gironde and the Atlantic Ocean. The overarching style is fresh, breezy and bright, and vintages are as important as every here. This comes across in the more successful vintages for Château Tour Seran, which include 2022, 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2016. (22/1/25)
