Bordeaux 2012 Primeurs: AC Bordeaux Tasting Notes

Other wines tasted may not have been as fascinating and pointed as Le Retout Blanc, or as flinty-minerally as À Louima, but they may have shown a little more polish, something that will come at Château du Retout and Château Grand Village with time I am sure. Before presenting my notes, I will just highlight a few other wines that are of particular interest, because they are of high quality or because they are new to me.

Up at Cos d’Estournel the white wine – which is, as I already made clear in my Médoc review, actually made from fruit picked at Goulée, more than a mile or two north of Cos – was showing very well. There is no problem with quality here; the main issue will be price, as this isn’t a wine destined for the bargain basement sale.
