Domaine du Moulin: Tasting & Drinking
The range of wines at Domaine du Moulin is interesting, with some high points, in particular the pétillant natural Bulle cuvée, which offers exuberant fruit and a gently sweet pétillance. I also find the vin de pays Pivoine cuvée of considerable interest; ask anyone to rattle off a list of leading Loire varieties and, unless you are dealing with a hardened Loire geek, I suspect it will be a long time before the word Côt pops up. Despite remaining a rather niche variety, however, Côt remains an exciting part of the Touraine palette, producing wines no less floral than Cabernet Franc, but often with greater colour, fruit and texture.
