Domaine Adèle Rouzé: Vineyards

The domaine is located just on the outskirts of the two of Quincy, and working from here Adèle Rouzé tends her vines, as Jacques Rouzé and Côme do theirs. She started out with just 1 hectare of old vines, but as the years passed she planted some new vines each year, so she gradually grew the vineyard to a handsome 4 hectares.

Today she continues to work these 4 hectares of vines, planted entirely to Sauvignon Blanc, in keeping with appellation regulations which permit the use of only this variety in Quincy. The vines are tended along the lines of viticulture raisonnée, keeping chemical treatments to a minimum in order to protect the future health of the vineyard. The soils are typically diverse, this being a hallmark of the Quincy appellation, with a mix of silty, gravelly soils over clay, the limestone of the Paris basin typically deeply buried here.
