Château du Hureau: Tasting & Drinking
Despite having enjoyed his wines, Philippe Vatan is one of those vignerons that I took a while to get around to visiting. I encountered his wines at tastings, in received samples, or at the Salon des Vins de Loire, where we always seemed to miss one another. I usually arrived five minutes after Philippe had left. I was glad, recently, to finally be able to call in on Philippe in person, to get to know the domaine and its vineyards a little better, and to expand my tasting experience when it came to the wines.
