Didier Chaffardon: Vineyards

Although Didier started off with a potential 10 hectares, what he farms has now been reduced to just 3 hectares. These vines sit in three parcels. The first is near St Mélaine sur Aubance, not far from Brissac-Quincé, and comprises just 0.3 hectares of Chenin Blanc, aged up to eighty years. The terroir here is clay and schist, the latter typical for the region. The fruit grown here goes into the cuvée Isodore, perhaps one of Didier’s best-known cuvées.
