Château Puygueraud: Tasting & Drinking

Although from one of Bordeaux’s less renowned appellations, the wines of Château Puygueraud do not deserve to be overlooked. As with many peripheral appellations on the right bank, the quality of the terroir is excellent, the clay and limestone soils found in these vineyards the equal of that at many properties in St Emilion, and indeed superior to many, especially those on the sandy valley floor. Throw in a talented group of people, led by father-and-son team Nicolas and Cyrille Thienpont, and you have a recipe for success.
