Domaine Amirault: Tasting & Drinking
Xavier Amirault turns out an interesting array of red wines with a focus on the St Nicolas de Bourgueil appellation, although the white and sparkling wines should certainly not be overlooked. Among the former, the style is rather old-school, with a focus on maceration, starting at two or three weeks for the entry-level cuvée Les Quarterons, the sort of maceration that might be reserved for a serious clay-limestone cuvée at many other domaines.
