Roc de Cambes: Tasting & Drinking
As noted on the previous page the winemaking at Roc des Cambes follows the same philosophies as at Château Tertre Roteboeuf, and this much is apparent when tasting the wines. The familial resemblance in terms of texture and style is plain for all to see. I have, at times, described the wine of this estate as a “mini-Tertre Roteboeuf”, and to do so is not merely a hyperbolic soundbite, it is a true representation of the style of the wine. The same degraded fruit character, the same polished texture, the same savoury perfumed wood-spice character which can be found in the wines of Château Tertre Roteboeuf also course through the palate here.
