L’Aurage: Tasting & Drinking

The style here is unmistakably Mitjavile, Louis having worked with his father for so long this should perhaps not surprise us. That means the wines are distinctive; the Mitjavile style is one of silky textures hiding considerable substance and sometimes a wealth of structure, seemingly incongruous facets which when combined make for a set of wines that are distinctive – some might say unique and I would not argue with them – within Bordeaux. Some have said that the textural qualities of the wines call to mind Burgundy more than Bordeaux, and I can see where people are coming from with that. The wines here remain true to this.
