Bordeaux 2020 Late Arrivals
I spent Saturday morning pulling the corks on some more 2020s from Bordeaux, tasting and scribbling (and then walking the dog – he seemed to express no interest in checking out the wines at all), and as a consequence I have added a few late arrivals to my Bordeaux 2020 at Two Years reports.
First up, in St Emilion (mostly, anyway), these late arrivals include Château Pavie and other wines of the Perse portfolio. New notes have been added as follows:
- Château Pavie and Arômes de Pavie, notes added to my 2020 St Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé report.
- Château Pavie-Decesse and Château Monbousquet, both notes added to my 2020 St Emilion Grand Cru Classé report.
- Château Bellevue Mondotte, the note for which is in my 2020 St Emilion Grand Cru report.
- Clos de Lunelles, which resides in my 2020 Rest of the Right report.
Other recently added tasting notes include two on the white wines made by Jean-Luc Thunevin at Château Valandraud. These were among a small selection of white samples that I have been resting at my house near Chinon. I finally got around to tasting them last week, sandwiched between the Salon des Vins de Loire and Wine Paris.
- Château Valandraud Blanc and Virginie de Valandraud Blanc, these notes are now in my 2020 Appellation Bordeaux report.
Finally, two wines from one of the top unclassified crus of Pessac-Léognan.
- Château Brown, both red and white cuvées, notes added to my 2020 Pessac-Léognan White and 2020 Pessac-Léognan Red reports.
That’s it for 2020 Bordeaux. Promise! (25/2/23)
