Bordeaux 2019 Top-Up
This seems like a good moment to top-up some of the Bordeaux 2019 reports already published with a handful of fresh notes from barrel samples tasted over the last few days. I have already supplemented my 2019 St Estèphe with notes on Château Lafon-Rochet, Château de Pez and Château Beau-Site. Similarly I have just topped up my 2019 Pauillac, 2019 St Julien and 2019 St Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé reports, as follows.
To my 2019 Pauillac report I have now added notes on Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste and the estate’s second wine, Lacoste-Borie (pictured above).
My 2019 St Julien report I now includes tasting notes on Château Langoa-Barton and Château Léoville-Barton.
To my 2019 St Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classé report I have added one more note, on Clos Fourtet, and hopefully I will be able to add some thoughts on Château Valandraud in the next few days.
Coming up in the week ahead, reports on the 2019 vintage in Pomerol and Pessac-Léognan, as well as my third St Emilion instalment, looking at the grand cru wines and satellites, a report which includes some great wines. I will finish up the week with some notes on more peripheral appellations, after which there will be little left to cover except for Sauternes.
